主要從事茶樹營養與施肥、茶食品品質化學方面的教學研究。尤其是利用組學技術研究茶樹根系生長發育,闡述關鍵基因調控茶樹扡插生根、根系生長發育的分子機制;通過研究和探讨茶多酚與食品成分間的相互作用機理,為茶葉功能成分在茶食品中應用提供應用基礎。教學方面,承擔山東省專業學位研究生案例庫建設課程1門,一流專業核心課程1門,青島農業大學第二屆教學創新大賽優秀教師,主講的《茶葉審評與檢驗》課程獲“全國茶學專業中青年教師教學能力大賽”二等獎,教研成果“應用型創新人才培養理念在茶學專業學生培養中的應用”獲青島農業大學教學成果二等獎;科研方面,擔任崂山茶産業創新團隊栽培崗位專家,主持山東省自然科學基金面上項目1項、山東省農業良種工程項目子課題2項,山東省高等學校科技計劃項目1項,青島市科技發展計劃項目1項,參與國家自然科學基金4項。已在Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, LWT - Food Science and Technology, Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, Foods, Plant Physiology and Biochemistry及《茶葉科學》、《食品工業科技》、《中國科技翻譯》等國内外期刊發表論文30餘篇。獲山東省科技進步二等獎1項,三等獎1項,地廳級科技獎勵6項;審定茶樹新品種3個,授權專利6項。社會兼職方面,擔任山東茶葉學會常務理事,青島市茶文化研究會副會長。
